Lineage

He belonged to a noble and pious family. His father was Hazrat Syed Ahmad Bukhari and his mother was the revered Bibi Zulaikha May Allah have mercy on her, affectionately known as Mai Sahib.

Early Education

He received his early education in Badayun. After the demise of his father, his mother played a vital role in his upbringing and education. He moved to Delhi in pursuit of higher Islamic knowledge.

Islamic Education

He studied and mastered Tafseer, Hadith, Fiqh, Arabic Literature, Tasawwuf, Logic and Islamic Sciences under the renowned scholars of Delhi.

Spiritual Journey

He travelled to Ajodhan which is present-day Pakpattan to meet Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Ganj-e-Shakar May Allah have mercy on him. He became a devoted disciple known as Mureed of Baba Farid. He received Khilafat in the Chishtiyyah Silsilah at a young age.

Sanad-e-Khilafat

He received Khilafat and spiritual authorization from Sultan-ul-Arifeen Hazrat Khwaja Baba Fariduddin Masood Ganj-e-Shakar May Allah have mercy on him.

Religious and Spiritual Services

He dedicated his life to the service of Islam and humanity. He established one of the most influential Khanqahs in Delhi. He fed thousands of poor and needy people daily. He guided countless seekers on the path of Allah.

Teaching Services

He trained hundreds of scholars, saints and spiritual leaders. He delivered discourses on spirituality, sincerity, love and devotion. His gatherings attracted people from all walks of life.

Prominent Khulafa and Disciples

Among his prominent Khulafa and disciples were Hazrat Amir Khusrau Dehlavi May Allah have mercy on him, Hazrat Amir Hasan Sijzi May Allah have mercy on him, Hazrat Nasiruddin Chiragh-e-Delhi May Allah have mercy on him and numerous saints and scholars of the Chishtiyyah Order.

Literary Contributions

Although he authored few works himself, his sayings, discourses and teachings were preserved by his disciples. These include Fawaid-ul-Fu’ad, Siyar-ul-Auliya and Khair-ul-Majalis. These works preserve his wisdom, teachings and spiritual guidance.

Character and Virtues

He was renowned for humility, generosity and compassion. He lived a simple life despite widespread fame. He emphasized love, service to humanity and adherence to the Sunnah. He avoided association with rulers and political authority.
