Lineage

He belonged to the renowned spiritual family of Marehra Sharif. He was a descendant of the illustrious Sufi saints of the Barakatiyyah silsilah. He was the son of Hazrat Shah Aale Rasool Ahmadi Marehravi May Allah have mercy on him.

Early Education

He received his primary Islamic and spiritual education under the supervision of his noble father. He displayed extraordinary piety, intelligence and spiritual inclination from childhood.

Islamic Education

He studied and mastered Tafseer, Hadith, Fiqh, Aqeedah, Arabic Literature, Tasawwuf, Logic and Philosophy under eminent scholars and spiritual masters of his era.

Spiritual Training

He received spiritual training from his father, Hazrat Shah Aale Rasool Marehravi. He attained high ranks in Sulook and Ma’rifah. He became one of the leading spiritual authorities of the Indian subcontinent.

Sanad-e-Khilafat

He received Khilafat and spiritual authorization in Qadiriyyah, Chishtiyyah, Naqshbandiyyah, Suhrawardiyyah and Barakatiyyah through the noble chain of Marehra Sharif.

Religious and Spiritual Services

He guided thousands of seekers towards the path of Allah. He established gatherings of Dhikr, spiritual training and Islamic education. He revived the teachings of Tasawwuf in accordance with the Qur’an and Sunnah. He became a source of spiritual guidance for scholars, saints and the general public.

Prominent Disciples and Khulafa

Among his prominent disciples and Khulafa were A’la Hazrat Imam Ahmad Raza Khan Qadri Baraylvi May Allah have mercy on him, Hazrat Maulana Wasi Ahmad Surti May Allah have mercy on him and numerous scholars, saints and spiritual guides of India.

Special Relationship with A’la Hazrat

A’la Hazrat Imam Ahmad Raza Khan became his mureed and received Khilafat from him. He greatly admired the knowledge, piety and spiritual excellence of A’la Hazrat. Their relationship remains one of the most celebrated teacher-disciple relationships in the history of Ahl-e-Sunnat.

Literary Contributions

His literary works include Irfan-e-Tasawwuf, Makatib-e-Nooriyyah and Malfoozat and spiritual discourses preserved by disciples. He also wrote numerous letters and teachings on Sulook and spiritual reform.

He was renowned for humility, generosity and deep love for the Holy Prophet ﷺ. He was known for strict adherence to the Shari’ah. He was revered for his spiritual insight, wisdom and sincerity. Countless people benefited from his company and guidance.
