Less than 15 days so do we have to offer Qasar Salah

الجواب

If somebody is staying for less than 15 days in a place he will be considered as a Musaafir and has to offer Qasr Namaz. Qasr is relaxation given by Shariah in 4 rakaats of Farz (obligatory) prayers.

So a person in travelling has to pray:

▪️2 Rakaats Farz of Zuhr instead of 4 Rakats

▪️2 Rakaats Farz of Asr instead of 4 Rakaats

▪️2 Rakaats Farz of Esha instead of 4 Rakaats.

(Remaining all rakaats of Zohr, Asr & Esha remains same.)

There is no Qasr in Sunnat, Nawafil & Witr.

Witr is Wajib and must be prayed in all conditions. Person missing his Witr will be a sinner and must make it Qaza.

Sunnah Muakaddah should also be prayed and can be missed only in dire circumstances during travelling.

قصر الرباعی حتی یدخل مصرہ

""Four Rakats (Farz) should be shortened (to two Rakats ) until he enters back to his hometown"

Allama Zainuddin Ibn e Nujaim Hanafi (970 AH) has stated :

لا قصر فی الوتر والسنن

"No Qasr in Witr and Sunnahs"

(📕البحر الرائق, کتاب الصلوۃ, باب صلوۃ المسافر)

Sadrus Shariah Mufti Amjad Ali Aazmi (1367 AH) has explained with reference of Fatawa Aalamgiri:

"There is no Qasr in Sunnah. They will be offered completely. In condition of peace they will be offered. However, in state of fear and haste they are forgiven"
