Hazrat Abu Muhammad Muhiyuddin Shaykh Abdul Qadir ibn Abu Salih Musa Jilani al-Hasani wal Husayni.

Lineage

He was descended from the noble family of the Holy Prophet ﷺ through both Imam Hasan and Imam Husayn May Allah be pleased with them both. His father was Hazrat Abu Salih Musa Jangi Dost May Allah have mercy on him. His mother was Sayyidah Umm-ul-Khair Fatimah May Allah have mercy on her.

Early Education

He received his early education in Jilan. He displayed extraordinary piety, honesty and devotion from childhood. He travelled to Baghdad in pursuit of higher Islamic knowledge at a young age.

Islamic Education

He studied under the leading scholars of Baghdad and mastered Tafseer, Hadith, Fiqh, Usool-ul-Fiqh, Aqeedah, Arabic Literature, Tasawwuf, Logic and Islamic Sciences.

Prominent Teachers

Among his prominent teachers were Shaykh Abu Saeed al-Mukharrimi May Allah have mercy on him, Abu Ghalib Ahmad ibn Hasan al-Baqillani May Allah have mercy on him, Abu Zakariyya Yahya Tabrizi May Allah have mercy on him and numerous eminent scholars of Baghdad.

Spiritual Training

He undertook years of Mujahadah, Riyadah and spiritual discipline. He attained the highest ranks of Wilayah and Ma’rifah. He became the Imam and leader of countless saints and spiritual seekers.

He received spiritual authorization through the noble chains of Qadiriyyah, Chishtiyyah, Suhrawardiyyah and other recognized Sufi traditions.
