Overview

A’la Hazrat Imam Ahmad Raza Khan Qadri Baraylvi May Allah have mercy on him was one of the most influential scholars in Islamic history. His unparalleled contributions to Fiqh, Hadith, Tafseer, Aqeedah, Tasawwuf and the defense of Ahl-e-Sunnat continue to inspire millions of Muslims worldwide. He is widely recognized as the Mujaddid Reviver of the 14th Islamic century. He was born in the blessed city of Bareilly Sharif and raised in a distinguished family of scholars and saints, surrounded by faith, knowledge and piety from an early age. He is counted among the greatest jurists, scholars and spiritual leaders of the Indian subcontinent who were known for their deep knowledge, profound wisdom, extraordinary memory and unwavering defense of Ahl-e-Sunnat. For over five decades, he illuminated the path of sacred knowledge, issued Fatwas, trained scholars, authored approximately one thousand works and preserved the true creed of Islam.

Lineage

Belonged to a distinguished family of scholars and saints. His father, Maulana Naqi Ali Khan, was a renowned scholar and Mufti of his time.

Extraordinary Childhood

He completed the Holy Qur’an at a young age. He demonstrated exceptional intelligence and memory from childhood. He issued his first Fatwa at approximately thirteen years of age with the approval of his father.

Islamic Education

He received education from his father and other eminent scholars and mastered Tafseer, Hadith, Fiqh, Usool-ul-Fiqh, Aqeedah, Arabic Literature, Logic known as Mantiq, Philosophy, Mathematics, Astronomy, Inheritance Laws and Arabic Grammar and Syntax.

Scholarly Excellence

He became one of the greatest Islamic scholars of the Indian subcontinent and was recognized for his mastery in more than fifty branches of knowledge.

Fatwa and Ifta Services

He served the Ummah through Fatwa writing for more than five decades. He issued thousands of Fatwas on religious, social and contemporary matters. He established a distinguished methodology in Hanafi jurisprudence. His religious verdicts were sought from across the Muslim world.

Teaching Services

He trained countless scholars, Muftis and researchers. He conducted lessons in Hadith, Fiqh, Tafseer and other Islamic sciences. He inspired a global movement of traditional Sunni scholarship.

Literary Contributions

He authored approximately one thousand books and treatises. Among his most famous works are Fatawa Razawiyyah in 30 Volumes, Kanz-ul-Iman which is his Urdu Translation of the Holy Qur’an, Hadaiq-e-Bakhshish, Ad-Dawlat-ul-Makkiyyah, Husam-ul-Haramain, Al-Amn-o-Wal-Ula, Al-Mu’tamad-ul-Mustanad and Al-Fuyuzat-ur-Rabbaniyyah. In addition to these, he wrote numerous books and research papers on Fiqh, Hadith, Aqeedah, Astronomy, Mathematics and other sciences.

Historic Journey for Hajj

He performed Hajj and visited the Haramain Sharifain. He met leading scholars of Makkah Mukarramah and Madinah Munawwarah. He received endorsements and commendations from eminent Arab scholars. His famous work Husam-ul-Haramain received approval from numerous scholars of the Haramain.

International Influence

His books and Fatwas spread throughout India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Prominent Students and Khulafa

Among his prominent students and Khulafa were Hujjat-ul-Islam Maulana Hamid Raza Khan, Mufti Azam-e-Hind Imam Mustafa Raza Khan, Sadrush Shariah Mufti Amjad Ali Aazmi and Allama Zafaruddin Bihari. He trained hundreds of scholars, Muftis and spiritual leaders.

Sanad-e-Khilafat

He received Khilafat and spiritual authorization from renowned Mashaikh of the Qadiriyyah, Chishtiyyah, Naqshbandiyyah and Suhrawardiyyah orders.

Defense of Ahl-e-Sunnat

He refuted false ideologies and deviant sects through scholarly writings. He preserved and strengthened the creed of Ahl-e-Sunnat wal Jama’at. He earned the title Mujaddid-e-Deen-o-Millat due to his revival of Islamic teachings.

Recognition

He was acknowledged as one of the greatest Islamic scholars of the last century. He was revered by scholars throughout the Muslim world. He was recognized as an authority in Hanafi Fiqh, Aqeedah and Tasawwuf.
