We needed your guidance,
We always have a slight confusion, whether the dead body feet should face the Qibla or the head...
This confusion is usually after the ghusl when the body is at home
At the graveyard, we know that the head faces towards the Qibla
Please kindly advise us with references to what is the right way?

الجواب
While performing Ghusl to the deceased person, body can be placed as convenient. There is no specification. Body can be placed in such a way that feet are in direction of Qiblah or can be placed in other manner as Qibla can be on right side or left side.
Imam Ahmed Raza Khan (1340AH) was inquired about this and he replied:
’’سب طرح درست ہے، مذہبِ اصح میں اس باب میں کوئی تعیین وقید نہیں، جو صورت میسر ہو اُس پر عمل کریں۔"
"Body can be placed in any manner. It will be valid and okay. As per authentic madhab there are no restrictions or specifications with respect to placing body (before ghusl or after ghusl). Whichever condition is feasible and convenient, can be adopted."

Similary placing in graveyard there is no specification but while placing in grave face should be moved towards Qibla as stated by Islamic Jurists. Sadr us Shariah Mufti Amjad Ali Azmi علیہ الرحمہ has written:
:”میت کو دہنی طرف کروٹ پر لٹائیں اور اس کا مونھ قبلہ کو کریں ۔ “
"(while placing the body in grave it is recommended) to place the body on its right side and keep face towards Qiblah".
