Mufti Sahib, If somebody is going for Hajj or Umrah is it compulsory for him to offer 40 prayers In Madina Shareef ?

الجواب اللھم ھدایہ الحق والصواب
Offering 40 Salah in Masjid Nabwi Shareef Madina Munawarrah is a very blessed act but not an obligatory or compulsory part of Hajj or Umrah even if somebody has travelled for first time. If somebody does not achieve this, still his Hajj and Umrah will be considered as valid and acceptable.
As per Hadees of Holy Prophet peace be upon him one offering 40 prayers will get salavation and will be freed from Hell and protected from hypocrisy.
Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal (241AH) has mentioned that Hazrat Anas bin Malik, may Allah Almighty be pleased with him narrated from Beloved Prophet peace be upon him:
من صلی فی مسجدی اربعین صلوٰة لایفوتہ صلوۃ کتبت لہ براءۃ من النار ونجاۃ من العذاب وبری من النفاق
"One who offers 40 prayers in my mosque without missing any one Salah, emancipation from Hell and protection from punishment will be written for him".

The same Hadees has been mentioned by Imam Tabrani in Mojam ul Awsat and Imam Haithami in Majma uz Zawaid.
